In 2008, Save Our Strays was busy with our low-cost spay/neuter/microchip program and our fund raising activities.

We hosted a microchip clinic in January for Huntington Beach residents at a cost of only $5.
At this clinic, 66 pets were "chipped" with permanent identification. These are 66 pets who will be able to find their way home because their caretakers can be located quickly.

Special thanks to Dr. Stacy Baumann for donating her time to microchip all those cats and dogs.

Our low-cost spay/neuter program has been gradually growing. More and more unwanted litters of puppies and kittens have been prevented. More information on this program is available under "Events".

We have many fund raising activities planned in 2005. Please visit the "Events" section of this website for a list.

We are still short about $100,000 in funding for our planned pet adoption center. We are hoping to secure some space at the new Bella Terra mall in Huntington Beach. If we are unsuccessful with that, we will be scouting for another commercial location in the City.

We have had great success with pet adoptions through our email network. Approximately 50% of those sweet, adorable pets who needed a loving home, found one through our email network. Many of those homes were with SOS volunteers.

With your support, we continue to reach milestones in achieving our goals.

Sincerely,

Karen Chepeka
President, Save Our Strays of Huntington Beach
